This Ken Loach film follows the story of Daniel Blake, a joiner by profession in Newcastle. Sudden ill health forces him to stop work, but he is unable to get benefits. After an assessment he is told he is fit to work, but cannot find a job that he can do. He befriends a young single mum who is also having problems getting benefits.

Doors open 7pm, Film starts at 7:30pm.

Drinks available, or feel free to bring your own wine.

Entry £2 per Adult , £1 for Students.

This true story followes a 5 year old boy "Saroo" who lives in the area around Khandwa, in India in the 80s. Having stumbled onto a decommissioned train to sleep, before he knew it was speeding towards Calcutta. Lost and alone, with no papers or family name, he becomes a lost cause, shunted around the barely existent social welfare system. Eventually he is sent to Tasmania to foster parents, played by Nicloe Kidman and David Wenham. Saroo grows up having a comfortable life, but memories of his early years haunt him.

Rosamund Pike plays Ruth Williams, a London office worker. Set in the late 1940s the two meet and fall in love. Defying both their families and the British and South African governments they marry. Apartheid and ignorance try to keep them apart and they have a lot to go through to turn back family biases and political racism.
