For the first time in their separate histories, the councils of the two Sibford parishes, Ferris and Gower have come together this springtime to host an annual community meeting that brings together representation from all the villages’ many clubs, societies, organisations and institutions to celebrate the community that has grown up around them.  It’s the place to be!    6.00 to 8.00 pm this coming Thursday 9th May !

Nearly all of the many groups who meet in the Village Hall week after week will be on hand. There’ll be live music, a surprise or two and an opportunity to get to find out all in one place what everyone else gets up to that you never even knew went on!

The Wykham will be represented there, as will be Village Surgery, Holy Trinity Church,  the Friends (Quaker) Meeting House, the Town Estates Charity, the Village Shop and children and teachers from both Sibford schools.

Get to meet the editors of the Scene and the website, representatives from both Cherwell District and Oxfordshire County Councils, the community’s  Footpaths WardenNeighbourhood Watch and in their personal capacity councillors from both the Ferris and Gower Councils.

An opportunity to meet people who have lived here for year but you’ve never got to meet, to welcome relative newcomers to the village who you may not yet have spoken to, to catch up on a number of community initiative currently running on both sides of the valley – and to propose one of your own!

Two parishes, one community – and dozens of conversations!
