A Day for Tibet

11am: Return from Rewalsar – a talk by York Tibet Suppport Group organisers Dee and Rowena on their recent visit to Rewalsar and an update on the community project supported by the group. Located in Himachel Pradesh in north India, Rewalsar is home to many exiled Tibetans and is a sacred place for Tibetan Buddhism.

12.30pm: Curry lunch provided by the Gurkha Spice Restaurant (not included in ticket price).

2.30pm: Screening of A mother’s son, the latest 60 minute film by Nawang N Anja – Tsang (Sonam) – a highly acclaimed film about Dorjee Tsering, a 16-year-old who self-immolated on 29 February and died 3 March last year. Followed by a Q&A session with Sonam.
