SGPC Planning

The Sibford Gower Parish Council currently discusses planning applications, and other current planning matters:

  • at ordinary Parish Council Meetings, when publication and response timescales permit, and 
  • at Planning Committee Meetings, only when planning timescales prevent discussion at a regular Parish Council Meeting.

The Sibford Gower Parish Council Planning Committee consists of a minimum of any three Councillors from the current group of Parish Councillors.

The minutes of recent Parish Council Meetings and Planning Committee Meetings can be found in the SGPC Meeting Archive.

The minutes of ordinary Parish Council meetings list all planning applications that have been notified to the Council since the last meeting.

On the Planning Applications page, click on the application reference number to follow a link to the application file on the Cherwell District Council website, where you can find all relevant papers and comments associated with the application.

The new Sibford Gower Parish Council is currently looking at the existing procedures for reviewing and commenting on planning applications and planning issues, with a view to increasing our use of online documentaion, and streamlining our application handling processes. A Working Group will be making recommendations to the full Council in the near future.

If you are thinking of altering or extending your property, a good source of advice is the UK Government's Planning Portal.

Some types of alteration, called "permitted development" may not require planning permission. However, if your property lies within the Conservation Areawhich covers much of the Sibfords, this may not be the case. If in doubt, please seek appropriate professional advice.
